Let's Have Fun While Exploring!

This summer, give your child an adventure where they can enjoy various activities including hands-on building, art, music, dance, yoga and physical play.

Every week, students will enjoy various theme-based activities, specifically designed to allow them to explore and study the theme of the week. We have engaged specialists to help us design and teach students at the highest levels. We will also incorporate academic skills in reading, writing, math and science so that students can continue to grow and develop in these areas. We emphasize the application of skills and the development of creativity through all of our activities. In addition, we seek to support socio-emotional development by incorporating leadership, mindfulness and reflection as a part of our daily routine. Students will also enjoy water play each week and will help to maintain our school garden.

Schedule

The Summer Academy runs Monday - Friday each week from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.  Before and after school care is also available.  We have 2, 3, and 5 days per week options available and you can sign up for just specific weeks or the full academy.

June 16-20—Out of this World (Space)

Grab your space suit and get ready to blast off aswe explore space! Learn about the moon, stars, constellations, planets and galaxies! Each day will feature a hands-on project, books and learning about the entire solar system.

June 23-27—Dinosaur Discovery

Dinosaur week will take your kids on an adventure back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the Earth! Little learners of all ages will have a blast playing and learning with all of these dinosaur theme science activities!

June 30-July 3 (4 days)—All about Me!

Spend time focusing on the most important person in the world-ME! Each day will feature hands-on projects, books and materials to make connections to themselves, their friends, and our community! We will also host a very special, Grandparents Day this week!

July 7-11—Ooey, Gooey Science

A fun theme for mini scientists who like trying a lot of experiments and who don’t mind a little mess! Work with all sorts of ingredients to mix, measure, combine and react in different ways. Get ooey, gooey and slimy and observe things go fizz, glop, bubble, or pop! Experiment with science creatively without worrying about a right answer; with a focus on fun, learning will come naturally. Finish the week with a science display for all to see!

July 14-18—Dance Fever

Mrs. Lisa will lead this week of shaking, rattling and rolling! Giggles and smiles will fill the air all week long. We’ll tie-dye BBA shirts with the children too this week and everyone will be humming summer tunes at home after these extra bouncy days at BBA!

July 21-25—Under the Sea

The water is home to many forms of life. Learn about fish, dolphins, sharks and unique ocean creatures that live under the water. We will talk about the differences between the major oceans and how oceans are different from lakes and rivers. Our second optional family meet-up will culminate the week; we hope everyone joins us for a visit to Sea Life!

July 28-Aug 1—Around the World in 5 Days

Grab your passport and join us as we explore the people, food, environment, culture, music, dance and topography of different parts of the world. We will read stories, look at photos and study famous sites in all corners of the world. Get ready to learn how to say a few things, including hello, in a few languages!

August 4-8—Invention Convention

We foresee all the moving and grooving from July will lead to all the creative juice flowing during STEM week! We’ll turn the children loose with build and craft projects with Summer-themed materials! Discover by week’s end what our shapers of the future designed all week!

August 11-15—Animal Planet

We will celebrate the wide world of animals, who we share the planet with this week, which will culminate with the final field trip of the summer! Be sure to send your children dressed as their favorite animal on Friday, August 16! Our final optional family meet-up will take place Saturday, August 17 at Bowers School Farm!

August 14-15 - Brain Camp (Special Time 9:00 - 12:00)

Join us for an innovative summer camp that captures our vision at Blooming Brains Academy.  Students will participate in STEM activities, crafts, science experiments, reading & math games and more.  This is a special 2 day summer camp that will run 9:00 - 12:00.

August 18-22—Culinary Creations

What better way to cap a Summer of Love than by learning about food, glorious food! Children will spend quality time practicing rolling, mixing, peeling and cutting works and sending something home every day that we all make together for you!
